Story
Hogar El Alba
This summer I am travelling to Argentina with school to volunteer for two weeks at the Hogar El Alba children’s home. It is similar to an orphanage except that all the children still have parents but unfortunately have had to be taken out of their custody in order to protect their wellbeing, due to issues such as drug addiction and abuse.
This is a link to the home that we are staying at;

During our stay at the home we shall be spending our mornings performing manual labour to help improve the facilities at the home for the children. In previous years, students have done things like, rebuild the sports hall and built greenhouses and picnic benches for the children. In the afternoons we will be spending our time getting to know all the children staying at the home. We will be getting involved in their usual activities as well as bringing some of our own games and activities with us to share with them.
I am trying to raise some money to donate to the home in order to buy necessities for the children such as clothes and school supplies but also to help fix up the home to make it a more enjoyable place for them to live.
I have already raised around £150 through tutoring but am hoping to raise some more so any donations would be really appreciated as it is for such a good cause.
Thank you!
