Aman & I falling pregnant was the best news we had had in a long time, our lives were turned upside down when we lost our Baby 16 days before she was due. The days following were a never ending nightmare, the labour process was something completely foreign to us as stillborn awareness is just not out there. 4 endless days & nights later, Aman gave birth to Our Beautiful Daughter Aria on 6th Feb. Perfect to the eye, an Angel too beautiful for this world, we had no choice but to smile when we saw her.

In her memory, Aria’s Daddy, Granddad, Uncle Rick & Uncles are running the Richmond Half Marathon on Sun 17th Sept to raise money to buy equipment for The Butterfly Ward at West Middlesex Hospital & SANDS so we can help other families who go through the same as we did. The care received from the midwives at West Mid Hospital was second to none and made this traumatic time for us that little bit easier. Before going through this we were completely naïve and had no understanding of stillbirths and what someone would do in this situation, SANDS really helped us prepare for the worst and made understanding things much easier. Your generous donations will go towards supporting anyone affected by the death of a baby, helping to improve the care bereaved parents receive and promoting research to reduce the loss of babies’ lives.

The only running I do is down to the pub on a Friday night so I’m going to need all the luck I can get! Dad (60 years young) has run 4 Marathons in his heyday (40 yrs ago!) but hasn't done any running since then! Rick and Deeps are gym bunnies and are a pair of the fittest in our family but that doesn’t mean that this will be a walk in the park for them. Aria’s Uncles Kev, Vic, Jaz, Jaypal & Chiraag are all working hard on their training & words aren’t enough to express how proud we are that they jumped at the chance to run in Arias memory.
