Story

Amanda was diagnosed with a very rare form of liver cancer called Fibrolamellar (hepatocellular carcinoma). The cancer is present in her lungs and lymph nodes. Fibrolamellar affects around 200 people worldwide every year; making it not only difficult to research but equally, if not more difficult, to find an effective treatment. With the help of multiple doctors, Amanda has been able to understand and accept what is happening to her and how her cancer needs to be treated. By working with a range of experts, her NHS doctors applied for her to be given access to a type of immunotherapy called Nivolumab. This drug could help super charge her immune system to fight back against the cancer. Unfortunately, the application has been turned down; devastating news for Amanda and her loved ones. Nivolumab is available for Amanda if we can get the money together to fund it.

This is why The Student Housing Company is holding a charity football event on 23rd June 2018 at Cardiff City House of Sport in Leckwith in Cardiff at 1pm.

Please join us and come on down to support the teams but most importantly, to support Amanda 💛
