I've raised £1000 to Help Save This Art Group for Stroke Survivors

The art group is full of extraordinary people who are determined to keep living life to the full and contributing to their community despite the impact a stroke has had on them and their families. The group is a place of common understanding, creativity and mutual support. They have exhibited their work publicly providing inspiration to many through Carlisle Library and Tullie House Museum and Art Gallery. They are an inspiration to me and to many. I have therefore continued to support them remotely since March 2020, whilst many of them are shielding, with some saying what a lifeline the group has been, providing stimulating creative input, much needed contact and ideas to help through this prolonged period of isolation. I am determined to keep this group going and to expand its outreach in the future. It will take time to secure new working partnerships and funding and I am therefore asking for your help for this interim period to help provide funds for art materials, postage and to contribute something towards my time whilst I work towards securing its future. See The Group In Action when a local TV station filmed our last session in March just before Lockdown.
Group members say "I like this group because you focus on what I can do and not on what I can't". "It was helpful to talk to someone outside the family’' "For me motivation has been a big issue during these (Covid) times. Thank you for keeping us going".
