Help Arwa reach the University of Leeds and begin her Master’s in Medical Engineering

My name is Arwa Awni Saed, and I am from Gaza.

After months of war, fear, displacement, and losing our home, I received a life-changing opportunity: I have been offered an unconditional place to study MSc Medical Engineering at the University of Leeds in the UK, starting in September 2026.

This should have been one of the happiest moments of my life.

But in Gaza, even hope comes with fear.

My family and I have lost our home, our stability, and the life we once knew. Every day has become a struggle for safety, basic needs, and survival. Yet despite everything, I am still holding on to education as my way to rebuild my future and turn pain into purpose.

Unfortunately, I have not received a scholarship, and the financial requirements are far beyond what I can manage from Gaza after everything we have lost.

I am creating this campaign to raise urgent support for the essential costs that will allow me to reach the UK and start my studies, including:

* Visa application and related costs

* Travel expenses from Gaza to the UK

* Initial relocation and arrival costs

* The required university deposit

* The first semester / initial tuition payment needed to begin my course

The tuition fee for my programme is £33,500 for the academic year. I know this is a huge amount, and I am not asking people to carry the whole burden for me. I am asking for help with the first and most urgent step: to reach the UK, secure my place, and begin the degree I have worked so hard for.

Once I arrive in the UK, I will do everything I can to work legally alongside my studies and contribute toward my remaining tuition fees and living expenses. I am determined to work hard, study hard, and make this opportunity count.

Medical Engineering is not just a degree for me. It is a path toward using technology to improve healthcare, support patients, and develop solutions that can make medical care safer, more accessible, and more human. Coming from Gaza, where people suffer every day because of limited medical resources, this field means something deeply personal to me.

It is very difficult to ask for help.

But it is even harder to watch a real, verified opportunity disappear simply because war has taken away the home, stability, and resources that once made the journey possible.

I will upload documents confirming my unconditional offer and acceptance from the University of Leeds, so everyone who supports this campaign can see that this opportunity is real.
