Story
I have been inspired by My Granddaughter and Prince Harry who have
raised money for many projects in Africa and now I want to raise funds for a local school in Masindi.
There are currently 47 children of infant age attending but sadly due to lack of funds they are unable to continue educating them beyond a basic level as they do not have a teacher with the right grade of training. Therefore, I am asking for your support to help me raise the £4000 funds needed for the school so they can provide the training of a teacher for the older children.
Additionally the school needs support with the following:
• School fees fund for older children to attend school for the first time
• Plastering classrooms, building toilet, play equipment (to conform to government regulations for schools)
• Funding for medical items for staff, children, and their families, also for emergencies such as malaria/typhoid etc.
I am going there to work as a volunteer for a month in November 2017.
Would you please help me to achieve this target?

7 years agoThe teacher has started her training to upgrade her so I am hoping by the time I get out there in November she will be well on her way, so this money that we have raised so far will certainly have been put to good use. There are still many things needed to get the school up to a really good standard so the more we can give the more work that can be done to achieve this. I WOULD JUST LIKE VERY MUCH TO SAY THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO HAS CONTRIBUTED AND ASSURE YOU THAT THIS MONEY WILL NOT GO ANYWHERE OTHER THAN THE SCHOOL TO HELP THE CHILDREN.

7 years agoI am so pleased to say that my Granddaughters are doing their very best to raise funds for this project. .I am so proud of them for all the work they are putting in and have high hopes for a very good result. Have had some good results too for the competition I am running getting people to guess how many miles/kilometres I will cover on my trip there and back we know it will be somewhere between 15000 and 25000 so this gives an idea to people taking part. It costs 50p a go and there will be 3 prizes for the three nearest to the final figure..

Being a lady aged 81 years young I have always had a zeal for life and my family have supported me in other charitable ventures but I have left it until now to embark on my biggest project. I have wanted to volunteer in Africa for as long as I can remember and now is my time!
