Story
This is a long shot, but I work with the asexual community in the UK. Asexuals are few and far between and can feel very isolated and alienated in an otherwise sexual world where everyone is very different to them.
I have spent the past twelve months helping asexuals realise they aren't alone or different by creating regular meetup events to bring the community together. These events have turned whole lives around.
But some asexuals live far from major meetup points and do not have the funds to reach any of these meetups, e.g. some students or those on low wages. It really hurts my heart as I connect with these trapped asexuals online and hear about how much they have been wanting to meet others like them for - in some cases - many years, but can't because of funding.
What hurts even more is knowing that a relatively small amount of funds would make their dreams come true.
Hence I ask for £50 to allow asexuals in the local catchment area (approx 50 mile radius) to meet other asexuals. All money goes towards meetup funds.
I have sent this page to the asexuals in the far villages and towns out there. They will be watching and it would make their day to see donations!
If the target is exceeded, extra funds will be used to expand the catchment area to open the door to even more isolated asexuals.
