Story

Ash and Atl are 8 and 10 yrs old and are showing great potential as the future of British Ice Dance. They formed a partnership in August 2016 and medalled in every beginner competition they skated in.

Despite being so young, their coaches, 4 times world champion Diane Towler Green MBE, and her daughters Pippa, renowned choreography specialist and Candi, ISU technical specialist, recognising their talent, decided to move them up to the Basic Novice Category, a category that they are officially too young for! They made the transition easily and again medalled, and even won the Free Dance at their 2nd Basic Novice competition out of 5 other couples, all a lot older than them.

After seeing them perform, Olympic champion, Robin Cousins identified them as ones to watch and selected them to take part in his UK Sport exhibition along with the British Senior Dance 2016 Champions. They were also asked to open Winchester Cathedral ice rink.

They have already 2 international gold medals together, and have been asked to skate at a third international competition representing GB. Both are members of the GB development squad.

Ash and Atl are currently training for the prestigious British ice Skating Championships in Sheffield, where, not only will they be the youngest skaters in it, but the youngest skaters ever to have skated in it. They train on ice 6 days a week, before and after school, and off ice 3 days a week. Their parents want this couple to go as far as they can go, and are putting everything into their journey, but are struggling to get them to all the events that they are being selected for. Ice skating is not cheap, the monthly expenditure on lessons alone is about £300 and boots, competition outfits, competition entry and international travel all add up. If you could put even a small amount towards their journey, you will be helping to secure their future and their path to the Winter Olympics one day. Our goal is to raise £2500 to get them to their next international competition in Andorra and the British Championship in November.
