    Story

The disused Methodist Church in Ashburton (South Devon, UK) is to be sold at auction on 19 July 2017.
The group 'Ashburton Arts' has been formed with the sole intention of acquiring the building for the use of the local community as a multi purpose arts centre and community hub. We’ve already raised more than £100,000
as donations and long-term loans. This campaign is by way of a last minute 'push' for more, as we have no idea what the price may go to at auction. The Dartmoor National Park planning authority has given a very strong steer that it supports what we propose for this building and that it is not inclined to give permission for residential or commercial development of the property, so we’re hopeful that we’ll be successful at the auction.

All funds raised here will be put towards the costs of buying, and refurbishing the building, and putting on arts-related activities for the community in Ashburton and the surrounding area.
