Story
I’m Tracey Lawrence, Principal of Ash Field Academy in Leicester. We’re facing our biggest challenge yet, and I need your help.
Our school supports 160 incredible children and young people with complex medical needs and learning disabilities. We’re one of only a handful of schools in England providing residential care - a vital service that supports up to 18 children each night, giving families precious respite while helping our pupils develop independence skills.
The Challenge We Face
We’ve lost our council funding and must raise £400,000 every year from September 2026 to keep our residential provision open. Without it, these families - who travel from as far as Birmingham and Nottingham to reach us - will have nowhere to turn.
Amazing Support from Leicester’s Business Community
Twelve incredible Leicester business owners have stepped up to help. On October 11th, 2025, they’re climbing Mount Snowdon to raise awareness and funds for our cause. These entrepreneurs are visiting our school on September 25th to meet our children and see first hand why this matters so much.
Join Our Mission
If you’re a business owner or entrepreneur who would like to support this cause and join us on the walk, please get in touch. We’ll also be running a series of fundraising events throughout the next year to raise awareness and funds - if Ash Field is close to your heart and you’d like to help organise or participate in future activities, I’d love to hear from you.
How You Can Help
Every pound you donate helps secure the future of this life-changing service. Our residential facility isn’t just accommodation - it’s hope, respite, and opportunity for children who desperately need specialised care.
Please join with us in this cause and support our mission. Together, we can ensure our children continue to thrive.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Tracey Lawrence
