We are a vibrant school community committed to providing high quality outdoor learning opportunities for our children and families. We believe that children benefit greatly from interacting with the world around them, planting, growing, cooking and eating their own food and learning to play together. At a time when formal curriculum appears to dominate the media, we have taken the decision to protect time in our planned curriculum for our children to play. They use tools, build large structures, climb trees and are given tremendous opportunities to problem solve and interact with one another, building strong relationships.

We have worked with a range of people in our local community to develop an extensive outdoor Permaculture and Play space, where children are taught where their food comes from and encouraged to get back to basics. Our next step is to develop our large playgrounds, by resurfacing them and adorning them with a range of interactive activities and games, designed by the children. This is a very expensive project, especially in the current climate of educational funding cuts.

Our highly inclusive school lies at the heart of its community and has a large number of disadvantaged children and families. We are committed to providing our children with purposeful and adventurous experiences that offer them positive models for living long and healthy lives within their local and global communities.
