Story

This is our beloved Peaches (aka Lady Peach, Marshmallow, Polar Bear, The fluffy cloud and many more names that she goes by) She has become a bit of a facebook sensastion with a huge fan base over the last week after an awful dog attack on Saturday 28th August. Her eyes were bulging from her head and glazed white over, her jaw was fractured, she had swelling in her throat and in her head, putting pressure on her brain which left a very real chance of brain damage and she is currently blinded in both eyes, one of which is likely going to have to be removed.

We posted an appeal for information on facebook which might lead to us finding the owner of the dog that did this to her and from there, the response from animal lovers was amazing. The post has been shared nearly a thousand times at present but unfortunatley we still have yet to find the owner of the dog. We simply just want her to know what her dog has done, if we can avoid any more cats getting hurt or killed then that is a result for us. So after countless comments and private messages from people asking us to please set up a just giving page to help towards peaches undoubtedly costly vet bill we have decided to do it. A Close freind of ours already went ahead and did it but we asked her to take it down because we just didnt feel right about it. After some thought and alot of persuasion from so many kind people, we have come up with a plan.

We want to make it clear that Peaches is insured but we still have no idea if the insurance will actually cover her treatment or not and at this stage her treatment is ongoing so we dont know what the cost will be. In the case that peaches is covered by the insurance then what we plan to do is use the money to donate to a good animal related cause, we are open to suggestions on this. Another thing we might have to do is set up some kind of enclosure for Peaches in the garden (if she does lose her sight permanently) She loves being out in the sun so much and we dont want to have to take that away from her after all she is going through. it wouldnt be a costly project, just something that means she wont wander off and get lost.

We know that a lot of people reading this have already been following Peaches’ story and we want to thank you all so much for all your love and support you have been sending, it has really helped us to get through this so far. Peaches is still fighting hard and she is slowly getting better everyday. She loves our visits and we get such a nice reaction from her when she recognises our voices and smells. The vets and nurses all love having her around and comment on how lovely she is. If there is one cat who deserves to get through this, it is her. Please help Peaches to get back home and be happy again looe she once was. Again we want to repeat, if Peaches gets covered by the insurance, the money WILL be going to a good cause and we will update everyone on the cause that we choose.

Thank you to everyone who has reached out so far and to eveyrone else who will. You are all wonderful people ❤️
