I've raised £200 to Fund 250 solar lamps for poor people in Orissa, India, affected by Cyclone Fani.

Dear friends and family members, please see this post from my aunt, Aparajita Das. In the aftermath of Cyclone Fani, one of the worst natural disasters to hit Orissa, my aunt is organising a fundraising drive to assist some of the poorest and most vulnerable people in Orissa who have lost everything in this unprecedented catastrophe. The money will go to fund solar lamps to bring light to people who have no electricity supply, and are not likely to have any for at least 3 months. I have committed to fund 4 solar lamps, which amounts to Rs. 6,000 (about £70). I hope that you will consider making a financial contribution. You will literally be bringing light to very poor people living in utter darkness (try imagining what that must feel like). Please see my aunt's message below. To donate, please get in touch with her at lightup.Nirmala@gmail.com
'Friends, I am a part of this campaign and I can assure you that the help will reach one of the poorest sections of people. Please check the details and see if you can sponsor some lights; it will be a big help. The target is 250 homes, so please do the best you can. Please email lightup.Nirmala@gmail.com or reply to me.'
