    Story

Without wasting time to change into kit, every child and staff member at Ashton Hayes Primary School goes out each day in the fresh air to run, jog or walk for 15 minutes. It is not competitive and most children average a mile, with some doing more and some doing less. It is not PE, sport or cross country but a physical activity which is aimed at improving the children’s physical, social, emotional and mental health and wellbeing.

Now for the reason that we are looking for donations!
Unfortunately, due to the winter months bringing us poor weather conditions, the mile route that we have marked out is getting extremely muddy which is proving to be difficult to walk/jog/run on and causing a lot of unwanted washing!
The children have recently been completing the mile on a different route, taking in the dull, uninspiring playground. We are extremely lucky to have fantastic grounds but the weather is stopping us from taking full advantage of this.
We have recently come up with a solution for our problem. Great!
Now the problem we have, is that the solution is going to cost us over £7,000.
The money donated will enable us to have an all weather path, that we are so desperately in need of, laid around the school grounds.
So the staff at Ashton Hayes Primary School are going to dig deep and show everybody just how much they want the funds, enabling the school to benefit fully from taking part in The Daily Mile.

We are going to complete a 12 mile walk along the Sandstone Trail, starting at Beeston Castle and ending at Ashton Hayes Primary School. The walk will be happening on Sunday 12th March 2017. Staff are well underway in their training and aim to complete the walk in 5 hours. The group will start out as a group and end as a group, this is a huge team effort.
Your donations will be greatly received and we are really going to put 100% effort into raising the correct amount of funds.

Thankyou, from all the staff and children.
