Raza Education & Community Centre is a local centre in Thornhill Lees, Dewsbury which works tirelessly to promote community spirit and helps engage the youth of the community in positive projects. These projects range from organizing and hosting football tournaments, charity car washes, treks up Mount Snowdon & Ben Nevis and most recently organizing and delivering a Community Gala. The centre has a large group of volunteers who take time out to help with these projects. The aim of the centre is to keep the youth and community engaged in positive work and keep them off the streets and away from trouble. The centre is also providing Islamic education to local girls, boys, men and women and is there to provide people with a better understanding of Islam and its beliefs. The aim with this is to eliminate any misinterpretations and misunderstandings that someone may have in regards to Islam and help build communities. The centre raises its own funds by carrying out fundraising projects to help with the general day to day running and maintenance of the centre. We firmly belief that in the short time that the centre has been open we have made a positive impact. All funds raised will go towards the centre.
