Story

Aspiro, a small not for profit social enterprise, has helped over 1000 local residents who have experienced mental health problems, through supporting them to find recovery and an improved life through working again. We help people find jobs, volunteering and learning opportunities and support them moving forwards.

Thank you Aspiro, I could not have a got this job without you... (Oswald).

We were set up by Peter Smith, who was homeless 20 years ago through mental ill health and spent 6 years not working; however, he found through working again he remained well for most of the time, so he knows that a job can seriously help your mental health. This is the belief Peter and the Aspiro team bring to local people who have a lived experience of mental ill health.

Last year we took on a new service to help disadvantaged young people, and despite helping lots of youngsters to improve their lives it did not cover the bills and we found ourselves £13,000 in debt with the threat of closure; however, we have raised £8,000 in donations and we have to raise £5,000 now. Thanks to all of you who have donated so far.

Please help us to help the next 1000 people with mental health problems so they can find a job and rejoin society and feel well!

Please feel free to donate any amount you can afford as we will be grateful. Thanks for reading this and thinking about saving Aspiro.

Without my Aspiro Adviser's help I would not be where I am today - the support you give helped me get a job and keep it. (Jill)
