I've raised £1200 to Train an Assistance Support dog for Ashleigh. The fabulous lady at DARKOBI PUGS in Leeds has donated a beautiful Pug puppy to Ashleigh

My daughter Ashleigh developed a Functional Neurological Disorder 8 years ago & had to give up her job as a Nursery Nurse.
About 5 years ago we talked to the people at Pets as Therapy about a Therapy dog & they thought it would really help her. They recommended we should get what she really wanted as they would have to be bonded & have a special relationship for many years. The dog would need to be young enough for the training.
Ashleigh has always adored Pugs since she was very young & always said that is the dog she would get if she could.
As it happens the Spokesdog for Pets as Therapy was a Pug called Doug He was the lady at Pets as Therapy daughters assistance dog and she said he was excellent at his job (I had to drag Ashleigh home as she was having a great time cuddling him). But we bought his book and got his pawtograph.
We registered with rescue groups & rehoming groups nearly five years ago.
We have waited & waited and nothing suitable has ever become available.
I have asked on Pug breeders pages if anyone would consider donating a Pug for Ashleigh or reducing the price without any luck.
SO HERE GOES!!
Ashleigh has just had her 30th birthday & as usual she didn't get her dream gift so I decided to ask if anyone would help us raise the money to get Ashleigh her Therapy Dog and make it happen for her.
This would really make a difference to Ashleigh as she would be responsible for the dog and the dog would give emotional support to her so she could start to get out by herself accompanied by the dog which would be trained to recognise symptoms of anxiety and stress and how to react at those times. This could potentially be a great change in Ashleigh's day to day living to getting up to care for the dog instead of spending time in bed and getting out of the house as the dog would need to be walked. Getting a bit of normal life back, If anyone can help by giving a little to help towards this we would be more than grateful.
