A Tree for Tracy

On the 6th of August 2018 our beloved friend and beloved sister, lost her fight for life. Her loss is felt deeply by all those who loved her. Tracy was a warm and generous spirit, beautiful inside and out, her kindness and generosity touched all those who met her. Tracy was a woman of great humour, she was playful, full of life and energy and a deeply compassionate human being.

Tracy touched so many lives with her warmth and kindness and would have continued to do so. She had taken up running and would run to raise money for charity, she would also encourage others to do the same, her faith in people was great and her enthusiasm was infectious. I am one of many who have a story to tell about how Tracy was a kind and loving presence during difficult times, without judgement or criticism. Tracy showed immense patience and compassion, and you could trust that it was genuine and unforced. Tracy genuinely loved people.

I cannot simply put into words what Tracy meant to me and what she did for me, but her loving kindness will stay with me forever. I am certain that I am not the only person who feels this way. I wanted to do something in memory of Tracy and for all of us who will feel her absence from our lives. Amongst the many things that bonded Tracy and myself was our love of nature, in particular, trees. Tracy loved trees. I remember fondly a day we spent at Beacon Fell with the new pup Molly and our partners.

It is with this in mind, I thought a memorial tree would be fitting. A tree which sustains life and stands overlooking her home town of Blackpool from Beacon Fell. Most of Tracy's loved ones live in Blackpool, so they would be able to visit her tree and enjoy natural surroundings as Tracy did.

Life for a Life Memorial Forests have a plot up on Beacon Fell, the choice of trees are Silver Birch, Mountain Ash, English Oak and Scots Pine. I thought English Oak would be the best choice, as it is the strongest and has the longest lifespan.

The cost of a tree is £595 which includes a standard memorial plaque . Added to this I think it would be nice to provide her brother and best friend Alan Moore (whom she lived with) with memorial keepsakes and certificates of plantation which would add another £102.50 Added to this, will be the cost of fees for Just Giving (5%) and transaction fees (1.25%) . In total this comes to £742.06 which I have rounded up to £750 - any moneys beyond the cost of the memorial tree and paperwork will be donated to the Charity - Mind. If anyone would like a certificate of planting, copies are £2.50, if you would like one please contact me so I can arrange it.

You can find out more about Life for a Life Memorial Forests here

Once the money is raised, and the memorial tree purchased, I will post the date of planting on this page.
