In memory

Story

I am running my first half marathon with my sister Colette on behalf of a relatively new charity set up in memory of Paul Lavelle to raise awareness of domestic abuse involving men, a subject that can be seen as taboo and where those affected often remain silent. The main aim of The Paul Lavelle Foundation charity is to raise enough cash to build a community hub in Paul's name which will also act as a refuge for male victims of domestic abuse. It also aims to lend a helping hand and raise cash for other charities across Merseyside. Paul's friends, most of whom I know, have set up the charity and so are very passionate about honouring his memory to help others in need. They are doing a fantastic job so far and so I'd like to help by challenging myself to run a half marathon and raise some funds! If you could spare a few pounds in support, I'd be really grateful.
