Story

The Association of Ukrainians in Great Britain Glasgow Branch has launched a Ukrainian “Mini Library” project.

Reading in Ukrainian has now become easier in Glasgow. This project was several months in the making. Books were purchased in Ukraine from popular Ukrainian publishing houses. With the help of Cranhill development trust, we purchased Ukrainian books for children and adults.

Ukrainians, who have sought safety in Glasgow, Scotland, can now access books in their native tongue in four locations around Glasgow : SCILT, Polish Sikorski Club, Ukrainian East Renfrewshire Hub and the Ambition cruise ship.

We will continue to purchase books in Ukraine and expand the mini libraries.

We ask you to join us in the wonderful project and “Buy a Ukrainian Book”. It is very critical to allow children to stay connected to their mother tongue and culture, and to allow displaced people from Ukraine now living in Glasgow to access literature in the own language.

Any help is welcome and appreciated
