Besides being a huge environmental disaster, there have been 79 confirmed casualties and the number is expected to rise, hundreds have been injured and lost their houses and belongings. Help has been sent from around the world but the fires are still not under control. They’re the worst ones for over a decade and the government has declared a state of emergency and ordered 3 days of mourning.
