Story

In august 2019 Falkirk council opened a brand new specialist unit for children with autism spectrum disorder, the unit currently caters for six boys with severe autism, but 6 more children will be added in august. Over the past seven months we have been working hard to make it the best environment possible to meet the boys learning and sensory processing needs; the inside is almost where we need it to be. With reduced council budgets and limited funding we have been unable to do much with the outside area, as can be seen in the uploaded photos there is not much out there.

Each of the boys have sensory processing needs, many of which can be helped by outside play (climbing, jumping etc.). We would like to buy a climbing frame and some outside storage to hold additional play equipment. On march 31st I will be running the Alloa half marathon (my first ever race) and have chosen to raise money for our new play equipment, any donations would be welcome.
