I'm raising £1000 to Support a disability event

Story

I am raising £1,000 to support disability inclusion for the Africa Autism & Special Educational Needs (SEN) Show 2026. This important event is organised in Ghana, West Africa, by a dedicated foundation working to strengthen understanding and support for Autism and other neurodiverse and disability-related needs across the continent.

The vision behind the Show is to help bridge the gap between the high standard of Special Needs Education in the UK and internationally, and the support available in many parts of Africa. By bringing experienced professionals from the UK and beyond to train, guide, and encourage educators, families, and community leaders, the Show helps build lasting knowledge, confidence, and capacity.

Across many communities, children and adults with Autism, Dyslexia, ADHD, Down syndrome, Cerebral palsy, and other additional needs are often not receiving the right support in schools or at home. Many teachers and school leaders have had little access to the specialist training they need, while many parents feel overwhelmed, unsupported, and uncertain about how best to help their children. Too often, stigma and cultural misunderstanding stand in the way of acceptance and inclusion.

This Show has been running for eight years, sustained mainly through the commitment of its founders and with very limited outside support. Yet the need remains urgent and the potential to make a difference is enormous. With the right funding, we can help more schools, families, and professionals embrace neurodiversity and create practical, lasting inclusion that responds to the unique needs of the continent.

Please support this cause and help give thousands of children and adults with disabilities and neurodiverse conditions the chance to receive the right education, care, and encouragement for a brighter future. Thank you for taking the time to visit this JustGiving page and for considering a donation towards this vital work.
