Story
Our dear friend and teacher, Ava, is fighting a grueling battle with breast cancer. She was only diagnosed in December 2019 and as it is very advanced, she has been rushed in for aggressive chemotherapy which will be followed by a full mastectomy. The chemo sessions are happening twice as frequently as normal and have been so invasive that the side affects have recently sent her to A&E. Her family, friends and students are all relying on her strength and zest for life to help her through this. We all want her to win this battle!
Due to the debilitating side affects of aggressive chemotherapy Ava cannot work while undergoing treatment and the financial impact is causing great stress. We want to take away the financial burden during her treatment and recovery period and so we are raising money to help her. All money will go directly to Ava to cover her bills and cost of living while she is recovering. Please help in anyway you can. She is much loved and very deserving of your support - you can read more about the wonderful teacher and person that she is below. Thank you!
A bit about Ava the teacher...Ava is an exceptional nursery school teacher. She teaches 3 and 4 year olds to read and write through creative play. They are so engaged that they don't even realise that they are learning as well as playing! She has helped our four year old twins and countless others master their ABCs in record time.
A bit about Ava the person... Ava is a single mother who single-handedly brought up her two daughters despite very challenging circumstances. She is always smiling and has an energy about her that makes you want to smile too!

3 years agoA huge thank you to everyone for their generous donations. We have met the funding target and Ava is feeling truly blessed to have such kind friends and family. Ava's surgery has been confirmed for next week. She is being very brave and will be going into the theater with a smile on her face! We are all sending her our love and wishing her a speeding recovery. I will PM everyone with Ava's contact details so that you can message her directly during her recovery. Thank you again!

3 years agoThank you for all your generous donations. Ava is extremely touched. Here is the latest picture and update... Ava found the most recent round of chemo to be extremely taxing and ended up in bed for the past 6 days. She is now up and about again. Still fighting and still smiling. Sending you strength and love Ava!

My four year old twin girls were in Ava's class at nursery school last year and they haven't stopped raving about her. Since graduating from the nursery, we have remained firm friends with Ava and she continues to teach our girls through creative play whenever she comes over.
