Story
AVA's story as told by her mum Jackie:
"Ava was not well for 3/4 weeks with sickness, headache, off balance and just not her wee self. I had her back and forth to docs and hosp only for them to palm me off as it being a viral/ gastric bug each time. I just knew something wasent right was going onto week 4 and took her back to my own gp and they called up the pediatric team at xhouse hosp and they said she was booked in for further tests on the 14th June if it continued any more a wasent happy and pushed them so we got seen the next day at hosp cause she just wasent any better.
We went up and they done the usual obs and they seemed ok so they told me, and took bloods which came back fine so a told them a want a scan done at least.
Sadly within 20 mins after having the scan they came back with the devastating blow that my Ava had sever pressure in her brain and had to get rushed upto the sick kids in Glasgow for a emergency operation. They got us up there within 30 mins and she received the operation the next morning as she was stable enough.
2/3 hours we waited while she was in theatre a had all sorts of thoughts going through my head.
When the surgeons came round they told me Ava was a very lucky girl cause the pressure was severe, they told me she had a tumour and they managed to take a small amount away for tests.
We waited a full week for results to be told the devastating news.
Ava has a high grade glioblastoma tumour on her brain which is inoperable and incurable"
AVA has completed 12 rounds of Intensive Chemo Therapy and even got to ring the bell to signal the end of her treatment. However after her most recent scan the news hasnt been great. The tumour has unfortunately started to grow expanentially and will unfortunately affect her mortality.
Please help us raise some money to let AVA enjoy the time she has left with her family, lets do this for AVA!
