I've raised £3000 to assist with immediate aid relief & emergency supplies to the victims of Hurricane Maria in Dominica. Food & water is urgently needed!

The island of Dominica has been devestated by the most powerful of Hurricanes! 98% of buildings & infrastructure have been destroyed by this unprecedented category 5 Hurricane on Monday 19 September. There has been loss of life confirmed 27 but more than 40 missing / unreported and most people have lost absolutely everything.
There was no warning as the meteorologists were expecting a storm - this changed within a few hours to the most powerful category of hurricane and has brought about total devastation!
Dominicans are desperate for immediate help: they have no shelter, no food, and no medicine. Their belongings, and everything they built over a lifetime of hard work, have been washed away. Aid is crucial, and it is vital that it reaches Dominica right now, when they most need it.
I finally managed to speak with my parents in law briefly after 6 days in what was a very emotional conversation!
After literally a week of having no word or communication on their welfare, they told us they lost everything! The roof on their house was blown away - as most others and although they managed to escape downstairs to the floor below - they spent the night and day in over 2 feet of water - due to the flooding. There are no beds or mattresses, electricity or running water.
Most people are now living on a little rice & oil and the concern is that their water is running out and their food will finish shortly! This is the case for most people we have heard about.
Most people cannot access any relief at present as many vehicles have been destroyed.
There are countless accounts coming through of people sipping just a little water or carbonated drink to save what they have for their little ones... just heartbreaking!
My aim is to raise awarenessof the plight of Dominicans and provide a place for anyone who would like to assit to easily do so.
Thank you.
