Hello everyone, My name is Avril & I am heading to Africa in July for my dissertation for a BSc (Hons) in Animal Behaviour & Wildlife Conservation and I need your help.

The emphasis in my course at Wolverhampton is very much on wildlife species and their conservation in the UK, with field visits and residential fieldwork as part of my study. You can watch this short video that explains all about what I am studying.

I now have the opportunity to study more exotic species through participation in international field courses. For my dissertation I have chosen "The Primate and Predator Project’ at Alldays Wildlife & Communities Wildlife Centre This is where I am headed in The Soutpansberg Mountains meaning "Salt Pan Mountain" in Afrikaans, a range of mountains in far northern South Africa. It is located in Vhembe District, Limpopo.

I am using my student loans, grants, family & University donations to make this happen but it will make living as a student very difficult this year, so I have decided to ask for help. My flights alone are costing nearly £1000 but I now have that covered. What I need help with is living expenses, injections, other travel costs and payment for participation in the amazing work being done at the wildlife centre.

I have recently returned from Slovakia (photo below after tracking in the snow) where we tracked red deer, wild boar and wolves. We were taught how to track the animals, determining which tracks came from each animals. I loved this field experience and learnt so much. It's my hope that my study in Africa will give me an insight to Baboons visitation rates to game feeding.
