Story

I am trying to raise money to buy a cuddle cot for a the University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff Where i lost my first child to stillborn. What is a cuddle got you may ask, well i will tell you.

A cuddle cot is a cooling mattress that stop the baby's body deteriorating, and can be placed in a cot or even a pram. It allows parents to stay with them for days or even weeks before their funeral, hugging them, dressing them and taking them out for walks. When babies pass away in hospital, their bodies are normally taken to the hospital morgue straight away, but a cuddle cot – also known as a cold cot – allows the parents to spend time with their babies and bond with them as it slows down the natural changes in their body after death.

i lost my 1st child to a still birth at 40 weeks, she was a much wanted baby and being told they cant find a heart beat is the worst thing but having to give birth 10 hours later and not hearing her cry was something else. She wasnt able to stay with me for long with it being a hot July, they needed to preserve her body . i had to stay overnight and laying there listening to all the other babies crying was just awful, all i wanted was my baby to cry. Walking out of the hospital empty handed and watching other patents carrying out their babies in their car seats was just hoffific.

Im asking everyone to just donate £1 and share this story to enable us to buy this amazing cot that will help other parents come to terms with their loss.

Kayleigh would of been 22 on the 27th July. If i could raise the money by then that would be awesome.

Thank you if you have read this far.
