    Story

Sunday, September 17th I'll be Skydiving from 10,000ft to raise money for Cylch Meithrin Trawsfynydd & Mind-The Mental Health Charity. Since I was 15 I've wanted to Skydive to raise money for charity and finally decided to do it. The money raised for Cylch Meithrin Trawsfynydd will go towards the local nursery to ensure it continues to provide Welsh-medium pre-school education for the local children.

Mind aims to improve mental health by providing support to individuals suffering with mental health problems. They also focus on prevention, raising awareness and reducing stigma surrounding mental illness.

    The Statistics
Every year, 1 in 4 of us will experience a mental health problem. But hundreds of thousands of people are still struggling. It's estimated that only 25% of people with mental health problems receive support each year.
    Around 5,140 people
took their own lives in England and Wales in 2013, an average increase of 4% since 2012 with a 23% rise in Wales.

    Common mental health problems

    * According to the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE), common mental health problems include depression, generalised anxiety disorder, social anxiety disorder, panic disorder, OCD, and PTSD.
    * In 2013, there were 8.2 million cases of anxiety disorder, more than 1 million cases of addiction and almost 4 million cases of mood disorders in the UK.

"We believe no-one should have to face a mental health problem alone. We're here for you. Today. Now. Whether you're stressed, depressed or in crisis. We’ll listen, give you support and advice, and fight your corner."

Last year, local Minds helped over 300,000 people across Wales and England with services such as counselling, talking therapies and crisis helplines.

Any money raised will help to carry on providing continued support to those who need it.
