Dear Aylesford residents, neighbours, friends and businesses.

I am Nicci Bowden, Aylesford resident and organiser of ‘The Aylesford Big Lunch’ event, in its 13th year, taking place on Sunday 22nd June 12-6pm.

In 2012 'The Big Lunch' (a Nationwide campaign to bring communities together over lunch) started in Aylesford with a street party, and over time evolved into a much bigger event bringing the community together, for a fun afternoon.
Initially, I funded this, and asked for donations on the day to cover costs, and with collection baskets placed over Old Bridge Gardens on the day, everyone was asked to donate towards the event, the event was a success.
This is the process each year and how the event is funded. If everyone donates this way each year, it is hugely appreciated.

One year it rained and the Village Club opened their doors to us, but planned activities had to be paid for, and donations didn't cover them.

There are many costs for this event such as public liability insurance, childrens entainment, bands, supporting artist, bouncy castle, electricity, gazebos etc.

Aylesford Parish Council have kindly donated the use of Old Bridge Gardens every year, but funding is needed to pay for the days activities, so I'm reaching out to you and any local businesses, asking if you can please donate financially, (pay directly towards an invoice from a band, or bouncy castle etc), it would help in a huge way and show your commitment to this village. In return, there will be promotion for your business throughout the afternoon and through 'The Aylesford Big Lunch' Facebook page.
