I've raised £1500 to help AYUP (Alfreton Youngsters Umbrella Provision) provide youth activities and services in Alfreton!

On Friday 6th-Saturday 7th October 2023 (6pm-6pm) we're attempting a continuous 24-hour walk around a 1-mile looped track in Alfreton Park. For 24 hours, at least 1 member of the band will be walking the track at all times. See the route below.
WHY are we doing this? Like many towns in the UK, funding for youth services and activities has been cut, we're not getting into the politics of it but we feel it's unfair and we want to help change it for our town! Without engaging and safe opportunities for young people to get involved in there's an increased risk in them being involved in anti-social behaviour. As a band we have first hand experience of how important these youth services are, Ash and Joe first started playing music together at the local youth club, without it we may have never formed the band that has given us so many positive experiences as we've grown up. We're supporting the local charitable organisation AYUP! (Alfreton Youngsters Umbrella Provision) who are working hard to re-instate youth services and activities in the town. They've already established a weekly Friday night youth club for 11-17 year olds, held at the leisure centre and are looking to create more and more opportunities for the young people of the town. We're hoping to raise as much money as possible to help AYUP keep helping the future of our town!
On Saturday 7th October, whilst we're trudging around the loop again and again and again... there will be a full day of live music from local artists, games and a raffle with some great prizes. All the activities will be happening at Alfreton Cricket Club with all the money raised going to AYUP and the cause. DOTHS will be playing a set once we've finished the walk so it's worth coming along to see how well that works... The day is open for everyone to come along and support AYUP and the youth of Alfreton.
We understand that times are extremely hard at the minute but we'd massively appreciate any donations you can spare. It all helps to fund amazing opportunities for the youngsters of Alfreton.
Big thanks,
DOTHS
