Story
ShabanAs salaam wa' laykum family and friends
As we enter the blessed month of Rajab and in preparation for Ramadan, we wanted to update you on the progress of the masjid that our community on the ground and all you wonderful contributors near and far, are building in Sanyang, Gambia. Our target is to complete the Masjid this Ramadan and I have faith by the will of Allah and the help from my muslim brothers and sisters we can get this down and it be a sadaqah jariya for us all In shaa Allah.
Firstly the land was donated for the Masjid, but there stood a massive Mango tree. The Mango tree was felled to be removed, a sad moment for us but Alhumduillah, we were able to witness it fruit one last time. The removal of the Mango tree was done with a bigger purpose in mind, and Alhumduillah the tree was put to good use. The local community recycled the smaller logs into charcoal and firewood for cooking and the main trunk has been kept for a local carpenter to craft some decorative pieces for the masjid.

The first hole was dug and foundations were laid. Next was building up to ground level and the pillars were put in place.

The locals are very proud and excited.
As we proceed to the next stages of the building development, we would like to have you on board and provide you all with the opportunity to have the blessing of building your house in Jannah, inshallah.
Indeed, the first act of the Prophet Muhammed (PBUH) upon his arrival in Medina was to build a Mosque.
This is how the Masjid looks as of now. This will be the womens pray area, the mezzanine:

The roofing slab needs to be done so the windows can be fitted

As you can see a lot has been done and could not have been done without Allahs help and your contributions. We would really like to meet the target of completing the Masjid by Ramadan In shaa Allah, but we need your help as there is still a lot to be done,
* The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, 'When a man dies, his deeds come to an end except for three things: Sadaqah Jariyah (ceaseless charity); a knowledge which is beneficial, or a virtuous descendant who prays for him (for the deceased).
* Whoever builds a Mosque for the sake of Allah (SWT), Allah (SWT) will build for him likewise in Paradise. (source - Sahih al-Bukhari, Sahih Muslim)
This will be what our Masjid will look like, Inshallah
