Story
What is the Azul Wasi Orphanage?
Azul Wasi is located in Oropesa, a remote village on the outskirts of Cusco,Peru. The orphanage was founded in 2002 as a foster home for abandoned children and teenagers on the streets of Cusco who are at high risk .They are a non-governmental, non-profit organisation that works in permanent coordination with the family court system they have in Peru. They survive on the service and contributions of donors and volunteers who help generously without expecting anything in return.
What I will be doing to help:
Last year I was one of 24 from cadets from Sussex Wing Royal Air Force Air Cadets to be successful in applying for a trip to Peru in August 2018.
On the 8th of August 2018, I will be flying to Cusco, Peru. Here we will make our way to the Azul Wasi orphanage, where we will be improving and renovating the buildings and hopefully building some additional shared areas and dormitories. This will then help to improve the quality of life and the standard of living for current and future children and enable the organisation to help a greater number of children at any given time.
Following this, we will then embark on a 5 day trek up Mach Picchu, where we will be developing our leadership and teamwork skills.
We are having to raise our own funds for this trip, and any donations will be much appreciated. Please could you also share this page with other friends and family members who may be interested in supporting my cause.
