Story

Our world changed forever when we welcomed our beautiful baby, Jason, into the world prematurely at just 23 weeks. Instead of celebrating this new chapter of our lives, we were faced with the devastating news no parent ever expects to hear, our new born has been diagnosed with a brain tumour.

Jason is already fighting the challenges of being premature—tiny, fragile, and reliant on the skilled hands of doctors and nurses in the neonatal intensive care unit. But the discovery of a brain tumour has made our baby’s fight even harder.

We’re reaching out for help because Jason deserves the best care available, and we believe private healthcare offers the fastest access to specialists and treatments that are critical for survival. But private care is expensive, and we cannot cover these costs alone.

Why We Need Your Help:

The NHS has been incredible, but the urgency and complexity of Jason’s condition have led us to seek private medical treatment to ensure our baby receives immediate care from some of the UK’s top paediatric neurosurgeons and specialists. With your support, we can access advanced treatments that may give our baby a chance at a future.

We are aiming to raise £250,000 to cover private medical costs, ongoing care, and the surgeries that will give our little fighter the best chance at life.

Where Your Donations Will Go:

1. Urgent Specialist Surgery and Procedures (£125,000):

o Private Brain Surgery: The tumour requires urgent surgery, performed by a leading paediatric neurosurgeon. Due to the delicate nature of the procedure and our baby’s premature condition, this surgery must be done privately, as it can significantly shorten waiting times and ensure the best possible outcomes.

o Follow-Up Treatments (Chemotherapy/Radiotherapy): After surgery, it is likely that Jason will need further treatments to shrink or eliminate any remaining parts of the tumour. The ability to access private care means quicker referrals and advanced treatment options.

2. NICU and Intensive Care Support (£75,000):

o Private NICU Care: Being born prematurely, Jason needs continuous monitoring and care in a neonatal intensive care unit. Private care offers access to state-of-the-art facilities, ensuring our baby receives the highest level of support during this critical period.

3. Ongoing Post-Surgery Care and Rehabilitation (£30,000):

o After surgery, Jason will require continuous monitoring, specialised medication, and long-term rehabilitation to help their development. This includes physiotherapy, occupational therapy, and regular check-ups to monitor progress.

4. Family Living Expenses and Accommodation Near the Hospital (£20,000):

o Private hospitals that specialise in paediatric neurosurgery may be far from home. These funds will help cover temporary accommodation close to the hospital so that we can be with Jason during this critical time. With my partner unable to work while dedicating time to care, we also need help covering basic living expenses.

Our Hope and Determination:

Jason is already showing us incredible strength, but the road ahead is long and filled with uncertainty. As parents, we are determined to do everything we can to give our baby the best possible chance at a healthy and happy future. Private healthcare will allow us to access the life-saving treatments needed immediately, without delays that could affect our child’s prognosis.

But we can’t do this alone. Your support, whether it’s through donations or by sharing our story, will give Jason the chance to fight this battle with the best care available.

How You Can Help:

We are asking for your help to raise £250,000. Every single donation, no matter the amount, will help us access the treatments that will save Jason’s life. If you are unable to donate, please consider sharing this page with others—it could make all the difference.

• Donate: Any amount, large or small, will help us reach our goal and get the immediate care our baby needs.

• Share: Please share our story on social media, with your friends, family, and communities. The more people who know about our campaign, the greater the chances of meeting our goal.

• Support and Prayers: We also welcome your emotional support, prayers, and words of encouragement during this incredibly difficult time.

Why £250,000?

• Private Surgery and Specialist Care: Private paediatric neurosurgeons and cutting-edge treatment options come at a high cost, but they offer the chance to act quickly, which is vital in Jason’s case. Delays in surgery or treatment could significantly impact outcomes.

• NICU Care in a Private Facility: Specialised, 24/7 care in private NICU facilities provides a higher nurse-to-patient ratio and more tailored care, helping premature babies like Jason have a fighting chance.

• Post-Surgery Rehabilitation: Premature babies with such complex conditions need ongoing developmental support, which can be more effectively managed through private rehabilitation services.

• Living Expenses: With my partner needing to stop working to care for Jason, we need support to cover daily living costs while our baby is receiving treatment.

We never thought we’d be in a position to ask for help, but we are now fighting for our baby’s life. Your generosity and kindness will give Jason the chance to survive and thrive. Whether through donations, sharing our story, or sending your thoughts and prayers, we are endlessly grateful for your support during this unimaginable time.

With your help, we believe that Jason can overcome these challenges and grow up to live the life they deserve.

Thank you for being part of our fight.
