We are raising money to support families who have children with congenital heart conditions that require long admissions in hospital.

This is to help make the time spent in hospital a little better for both the patient and their families.

Our daughter, Indigo, had a congenital cardiac condition, which required lengthy stays in hospital from the day she was born.

This was understandably difficult, not only from the emotional stress of operations and medical intervention, but just being away from home; missing family and friends.

Indigo lived a life filled with joy; her condition never stopped her from laughing, singing and growing into a truly magical little girl. Even in her admissions Indi made people laugh, and she made many friends including other patients and the clinical team. Unfortunately, due to complications, Indigo’s last admission was longer than expected; this can be quite common for children with complex or chronic health conditions. It was hard for her and it was hard for us as a family. Living in a hospital with your child is incredibly tough. It is surprising how much the little things matter such as bedtime routines, toiletries and just being able to keep your sanity.

We are incredibly thankful for all the care Indigo received during her life and met plenty of amazing families along the way.

We would like to help support those families, in memory of Indigo.

Indi was a wonderful person who was always keen to try and make things a bit better whether it was making ice pops or coming up with ideas for treats or games in the hospital. She tried so hard to make the best of even the most difficult of situations, it was inspirational and as a family we would also like to support her ideas to help other children who are enduring lengthly hospital stays.
