I've raised £1000 to Support the family of Ethan in purchasing equipment needed on a day to day basis to help aid his recovery from Viral Encephalitis.

I'm running the Bank of Scotland 10K in October to raise money for Ethan and his family. Not an easy task for someone who has done little in the way of exercise the last few years, heres why....................3 months before baby Ethan Robertson’s 2nd birthday he was admitted to The Royal Hospital for Children in Glasgow as he had taken unwell. Ethan was in a critical condition in intensive care receiving round the clock treatment and was diagnosed after a period of time with HSV Viral Encephalitis which is a rare and serious condition where the brain becomes inflamed & swollen after being exposed to the HSV virus. 10 days after the initial diagnosis he was diagnosed further with secondary inflammation caused by autoimmune Encephalitis, which again is a very serious condition causing further damage to Ethan's brain. Ethan spent 5.5 months as an inpatient at the hospital and was discharged into the care of his parents James & Laura at the end of March 2017. The damage to Ethan’s brain has affected his movement, speech and swallow. The long terms affects are not known and the family are hopeful that Ethan will one day begin to walk and talk as he did before this terrible condition took hold. I am fundraising to support the family in purchasing the equipment Ethan needs on a day to day basis to help aid his recovery.
