Story
For a member of staff and her family the team at Lyndhurst have decided to come together and complete a sponsored walk. The walk will start at Manchester Childrens Hospital and will continue around Whitworth park and then back to the Childrens Hospital. This will be completed by staff, families, children, dogs and anyone else who would wish to join in!
Jenni Ali and all welcomed another beautiful baby boy called Jax into the world. She is currently living in Manchester Children's Hospital with Jax as they have recently found out that he is living with a condition called IPEX. This condition is where the immune system attacks its own body tissue and organs. Because of this it has resulted in Jax needing a bone marrow transplant. Thankfully, the Hospital have found a 100% match which will help Jax fight the IPEX. When the doctor sets a date this will mean that Jenni will no longer be able to have her family and friends visit her as they will both be in isolation for a number of months.
As Jenni is a permanent resident in the hospital her husband Ali has had to stay at home with her other two beautiful children. This has meant that he has had to give up his job. The other children miss mummy very much and are counting the days till her and their brother are home again. However, there is still no date for the transplant which means Jenni is a permanent resident in hospital looking after her lovely baby boy. As you can imagine, this is a tough time for the whole family.
This is the reason we have wanted to do something to help. Everyone who knows Jenni, will know that she is a determined strong women and will do anything to help her children. This time we would like to give her something back. An experience to raise money and help someone and her family who will always be the first to help other people!
So lets get together have a fun family walk and raise money for Jenni, the children, Ali and most importantly baby Jax.
