here is no easy way to tell this story.

Beautiful baby Otto has recently been diagnosed with Krabbe Leukodystrophy, a devastating and incredibly rare condition that affects only around 1 in 100,000 babies. which means his time with his family is severely limited to no more than a 18 months, Time that should be spent living life and creating memories.

This cruel disease means Otto’s tiny body is unable to produce the enzymes needed to protect his brain and nervous system. As the disease progresses, it will slowly take away the abilities most of us take for granted — his ability to move, to see, to hear, and even to feed himself. The reality his family now face is one no parent should ever have to endure.

Instead of watching Otto grow up, celebrating birthdays, first days at school, and all the milestones that should lie ahead, his loved ones are being forced to treasure every single moment they have with him, knowing that his time is heartbreakingly limited.

No family is ever prepared to hear the words that their precious baby has a life-limiting illness. The shock, fear, and unimaginable pain are impossible to put into words. Yet through it all, Otto’s family remain focused on one thing — making sure every day he has is filled with as much love, comfort, and happiness as possible.
