Story

On Monday 4th June 2018, Our family received the devastating news that my nephew, Patrick William (Baby Paddy) was stillborn. It was news that no expectant mum or dad should ever have to hear & there I was being told that my brother & his fiance Lisa had lost their beautiful baby boy. The week passed us by in a cloud of shock & disbelief that something so tragic and heartbreaking had engulfed our whole family with what was meant to be a happy time.

Baby Paddy has three gorgeous sisters aged 6,5 & 1 who were so excited to meet him, but instead he turned in to an angel.

Everything about Baby Paddy was perfect, there were no medical issues, it was just a tragic accident that nobody ever expects to happen.

How the human body can create such an amazing thing as a baby yet it can so cruelly take it away.

I have watched my brother & his fiance go through every emotion and I now feel i need to honour Baby Paddy‘s little life and keep his memory going in order to raise as much awareness of stillbirths and to get people talking about such a taboo subject. There simply are no words for parents or families suffering such heartache but that doesnt mean people should avoid talking about stillbirths. In the last week alone ive found comfort in many online forums reading about other peoples unfortunate experiences but there still feels like there is not enough out there.

Ive created this page as I would like to raise money towards the funeral costs as his funeral will be taking place in our families home country, Ireland which is why I’d also like a memorial plaque in Baby Paddys name over here in England.

As an auntie & a sister I feel its my duty to alliviate the financial stress on my brother and Lisa at such an emotional time and to give them a memorial place they can go to with their daughters to remember Baby Paddy.

If i am lucky enough to raise extra funds then I would love to donate it to a stillbirth charity. I will be taking part in numerous fundraisers in order to give Baby Paddy’s life some purpose, Baby Paddy should be celebrated & used to raise awareness to help others suffering the same heartache and encourage people to talk about stillbirth.

There are no words of comfort but having support from loved ones is a small step in providing some help to those suffering.

Thank you for taking time to read my story.
