Our Story 💕
On the 25th of May 2017 our lives changed forever. I went into labour at 6.28pm just 27 weeks and 5 days. I started losing scary amounts of blood and before the paramedics got to us I estimated to have lost well over a litre of blood. We were rushed to hospital where they gave me an ultrasound expecting to find that my baby girl had passed away due to lack of oxygen but her heartbeat was going strong so they rushed us into theatre to save us both.
I collapsed in theatre due to blood loss so I didn't get to see her come in to this world but she was born weighing a tiny 2lb 4 ounces at 10.02pm. The surgeon later revealed that I had a blood clot behind the placenta that had burst causing major placenta abruption. We were both lucky to be alive.
Clara spent 14 weeks in neonatal and I suffered with extreme post natal depression due to being separated from my baby girl for so long and post traumatic stress after the birth.
15 months later and our little girl is not so little. She is a crazy, happy, adventures little girl who brightens our life every single day.
She inspired Baby Steps. We are currently working alongside the Prince's Trust to launch our very own brand of premature clothing. We are just about to place our very first order with our manufacturer and hope to be selling our designs within a few weeks. We have over 100 designs for boys and girls, with every piece perfectly created for the neonatal journey and premature miracles. Our designs are made to make the hardest journey a parent will probably ever go through that little bit easier by encouraging bonding, a stronger relationship and spreading motivation to get through.
Besides our clothing line it is our mission to raise awareness of prematurity. Prematurity happens every single day and effects thousands of lives forever so i want to welcome you to the Baby Steps Foundation where all donations will be shared with love to Neonatal wards and services across the entire United Kingdom. Please share and donate with generosity because every penny counts.
Together we can and we will change the face of prematurity forever.
Thank you so much for all the support we have already recieved it means the world to me and more. If we can make a difference to just one life we know our work is worthwhile.
Thank you always 💖💖💖
