Yunus was born on 7th May 2020 in UAE during the midst of a global pandemic suffering from many birth defects.

I am trying hard to give Yunus a new life but its hard due to lack of funds for further medical treatment.

I have had many requests from family and friends to provide details around his medical condition and treatment options so I will break it down below.

Medical Issue 1: Pulmonary Atresia

Pulmonary atresia is a form of heart disease in which the valve does not form properly at birth (Congenital Heart Disease). The pulmonary valve is an opening on the right side of the heart that regulates blood flow from the right ventricle (right side pumping chamber) to the lungs.

On the 18th of May, Yunus underwent emergency lifesaving surgery where a temporary stent was inserted into his heart.

A second operation is now required which will be the actual corrective surgery, the hospital has now confirmed the cost of this operation at 200,000 AED / £41,000, therefore we have now revised the target up to £41,000.

Medical Issue 2: DiGeorge syndrome

Due to the baby's heart condition, the doctors had suspected the baby may also have DiGeorge syndrome which results in poor immune function, complications related to low levels of calcium in the blood and delayed development with behavioural and emotional problems. To confirm this, a genetic test was carried out and confirmed positive on 20th September.

Medical Issue 3: Metatarsus Adductus

Foot deformity noted at birth that causes the front half of the foot or forefoot to turn inward. This is treatable through foot casting and physiotherapy whilst he is young.

We are currently not in a position to pay for his hospital bills and are relying on support from charity, friends and family for help. Our primary concern is to resolve the heart complications which is what we are collecting the money for.

We ask you to pray for his quick recovery and help in any way you can.

All of the money raised will be going towards his medical bill. Let’s give Yunus a new life.
