Story
In April 2025, someone close to us had their life changed forever.
Our Personal Trainer and good friend Emma was on a dog walk with her partner. Everything was fine and normal, they'd even been to buy a new kitchen earlier that morning. Until suddenly, Emma felt the sudden need to sit down. She had no idea her whole world was about to be turned upside down.
Emma had a cardiac arrest aged 43. Her heart stopped beating.
By some miracle, the odds were in Emma's favour that morning. Her partner knew how to give CPR. There was a defibrillator nearby. A passerby was a nurse.
Emma was given the best possible chance of survival until the ambulance arrived.
And this is how Back in a Beat was born.
As a group, we have been inspired to make a difference and ensure another person has the same chance of survival as Emma had.
Around 30,000 people suffer a cardiac arrest outside of hospital every year in the UK. Sadly, less than 10% of those people will survive to be discharged from hospital. If CPR and defibrillation is delivered promptly, a person's survival rate is as high as 75%. Without this treatment, 90-95% of cardiac arrests are fatal.
We are on a mission to raise money to fund defibrillators & CPR training for local communities.
A 24/7 accessible defibrillator costs upwards of £1,000 and we'd like to get as many as possible out into communities. Together with your help, we can save lives.
Thank you in advance for your help, generosity and support.
