In June 2020 Bailey was diagnosed with a benign brain tumour and underwent an operation to remove this.

During her stay on the neurology ward at the Bristol Children's Hospital, the FUN Club helped Bailey with her recovery; the FUN Club are a charity run group who help children recovering on the neurology wards. Bailey's left hand co-ordination had been greatly affected by the operation; knowing this, the FUN Club spent hours teaching her origami which not only made the stay so much more enjoyable, but also hugely helped her recovery and ultimately her left hand coordination. The days and weeks that we all spent on the ward were made so much easier by the FUN club, so Bailey May is raising money for the charity, with herself and the whole school completing a sponsored run on the 20th October 2020.
