Weʼve raised £30 to Help towards a nursing volunteering trip to Bali to undertake a position within a mental health and learning disability setting.
- Bangor, Wales, United Kingdom
- Funded on Sunday, 12th August 2018
Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.
The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.
We are two second year mental health nursing students, studying in Bangor University in Wales. We have been offered to undertake a volunteer position with SLV.Global in Bali next August where we will be working with individuals of all ages with mental health illnesses and learning disabilities.
This is a unique opportunity for us to develop our skills and gain important and invaluable knowledge and experience that will help us in our future careers.
In Bali we will be teaching children and young adults English, performing various physical and mental activities with children with learning disabilities, working with individuals in a psychiatric hospital as well as learning about non-Western approaches to healing the mind.
We both feel very grateful for this opportunity and realise how treasurable this experience will be, both for us and the future work we will do in the UK.
We would be very grateful for any help and donations to fund travels to Bali - every little helps!
Thank you very much for reading our story,
Alice and Rebekka
