For the past two years myself and my wife have always wanted a dog of our own. Being dog lovers we knew we had to have one in our lives, and after a year of losing close family members we finally made the decision to bring this little bit of light into our lives. We picked up Ballou the Shihtzu on the 27th April and instantly fell in love with this little pup. He settled in so well and was so happy for the first three days. Everyone loved him and he made everyone smile.

Unfortunately on the 1st May, our pup took a turn for the worst and was admitted to Newnham Court Veterinary Centre for intensive care. He was there for two nights and was diagnosed with the deadly Parvovirus, which could have been caused from the home we bought him from. Ballou started to fade away and was not his happy bubbly self.

At midday on the 3rd May, we had to say goodbye to him as the virus had taken its hold over him and his poor little body could not handle it. It was the hardest decision but it was not fair to try and keep him alive. Even though he was with us for a very short time, he was everything to us and was our little ray of sunshine.

We have opened this justgiving page just to try and cover the vet bills whilst he was being cared for, as our insurers will not cover the cost due to illness coming about within the 14 day initial period of insurance. Every little bit will help as it will bring us closer to being able to have another pup in our lives.
