I've raised £50000 to help fund the landscaping and development of the proposed new Moss road park area in Ballygowan

There is a lack of green space for Ballygowan Village, Co Down. However, there is scrub land with a total size of 6.5 hectares within easy walking distance from the village on the Moss Road. Currently there are is a fairly basic football pitch there, which floods during the winter months.
Ballygowan residents are also well known for their keenness on walking, running or cycling the “Ballygowan 3 miler’, which consists of a circular on-road route incorporating the Ravara Road, Springmount Road and Tullygarvan Road. There are no footpaths on these country roads and it can be dangerous when farm machinery is passing.
Ballygowan Village also lacks an area for constructive activity for teenagers.
Ballygowan Regeneration Group (BRG) have been granted funding through the Rural Development Programme to conduct a feasibility study to investigate the potential to develop the ground on the Moss Road to provide better sports facilities and new designated landscaped walking/running/cycling trails, including biodiversity elements to encourage education and learning for local schools to use. We are matching funding this part of the project with our own money. The next stage, where we actually develop the site, will be very costly and we will need to raise significant funds to make this happen. We hope you can support us in our endeavour to improve the lives of this village.
