Hello! We are Bam Bam Boogies, a dance company based in Chelmsford, Essex who are crazy about everything Hip Hop! We are reaching out to the public to support our mission to bring dance and physical activity to those who are inactive, to encourage improvement of their health and wellbeing. We are putting on two events this September to bring dance to the community and get people moving!

Before we get onto the project, here is a little more about us...

We are a family of movers of different ages, abilities and backgrounds who aim to spread the power of dance to the wider community. From regular classes, to performance opportunities and mental health and well being projects, we use dance to bring joy to people's lives and create unforgettable experiences.

Our team consists of a group of professional dancers and community dance artists from the local area. Vicki Stavrinos is our Artistic Director who has over 20 years teaching experience and has travelled the world delivering, performing and training. Bam Bam Boogies was created in 2004 after Vicki completed extensive training in the USA with Michael Jackson’s choreographers and mentors, including Jeffrey Daniel. She is teamed with Administration Manager and Community Dance Artist, Jasmine Hall, as well as an incredible team of dance teachers who all bring passion and enthusiasm with everything they do.

THE BAM BAM BOOGIES TAKEOVER!

As we are moving into our new academic year of 2019/2020, we are looking to create an even bigger family of people who move together and enjoy dance! We are aiming to encourage those who are inactive to get moving by making our classes accessible, bringing dance to the community.

The Bam Bam Boogies Open Day - 7th September 2019

The BBB Birthday Event - 14th September 2019

We are asking for support in funding to make these events a reality and to spread the word about our mission. Here is a little more information about each event:

The Bam Bam Boogies Open Day

On September 7th, we are planning on running an open day at Sandon School in Chelmsford. This event is a chance for people who are interested in getting involved with dance and exercises to see what it involves and how they can start. We will be running back to back half hour taster workshops of each of our regular classes, including some of our new classes that start next term. We will be supplying refreshments and will also be offering discount prices to book classes in advance, to make the programmes more accessible to the wider community.

The BBB Birthday Event

On September 14th, we have planned to hold an event in the centre of Chelmsford, The Bowl in Bond Street. This year is Bam Bam Boogies' 15th Birthday and what better way to spend the day boogie'in with the amazing residents of Chelmsford. The day will consist of incredible performances by the Bam Bam Boogies Dance Company, to inspire those who are wanting to get involved, live workshops for EVERYONE to take part in and information stalls for people to gain more information about us and how we can support their engagement. We will also be joined by our sister programme, Project:ME which is a health and wellbeing programme with Kate Nokes Youth Coaching which brings together coaching and movement as an aid to improve wellbeing. Additionally, our collaborators at Virgin Active and HobbiHub will be joining us to support people getting involved with their community.

By this event being in the centre of Chelmsford, we aim to engage with a wider demographic of people through the accessibility, specifically those who are inactive.
