About Bamyan Art Academy:
The Bamyan Art Academy was founded in 2017 by Rahman Alemi, a professional filmmaker based in London as a Master’s project providing training and launching film festivals in Afghanistan. In response to the high demand from the art students, Bamyan Arts have extended its program to higher levels which have been delivered to some 120 art students during 2018 - 2019. Currently, Bamyan Art Academy is the leading institution offering media education in Bamyan. Within the last three years’ students interested in multimedia and journalism have benefited from training programs in script writing, filming, directing, budgeting, producing, acting and film marketing. Over 100 short student films have been produced, increasing national film production by 35%, some even winning prizes at national and international film festivals. The Bamyan Art Academy is currently having to operate with a limited amount of equipment, making further development and progress a real challenge. Our vision is to improve Afghan film and the cinema industry by establishing a long-term art academy with a reputation at provincial, national and international level. Your support or donation will greatly contribute to the achievement of our vision and goals.
