Story

The Playpark at Banavie has been enjoyed by many of us over the years but the current playground is very limited. The equipment is aging and gradually being removed as it breaks.

A committee was formed with the objective of providing a new playground which caters for a larger age range and does justice to the fantastic location and the local community. There will be improved play equipment for the kids, as well as nice picnicking areas for families and other local residents.

Back in September after it became clear that Scottish Canals were no longer going to be able to help us with the initial sum of money required to begin applying for funding, we began fundraising in earnest.

The good news is that the fundraising is going really well and we’ve had some fantastically generous donations, and are not too far off our original target. The bad news is that the European fund we had hoped to apply to for half of the cost of the playpark was inundated with applications prior to Brexit and we hadn’t yet raised enough to apply before their final deadline.

So (to cut a long story short) we need to up our target and raise another £5805 before we can apply to a different fund for the full amount.

We feel passionately that together with the support of the community we can raise all the funds needed to make this park great, please give whatever you can - every little bit counts and thank you for your support.
