Candice is raising funds to purchase equipment and cover costs of delivering accessible band clubs for children and young adults in secondary schools. Water Wham is a band involving a group of 12 Year 10 Secondary school children, which are now in their 6th year together. 2nd Teddington Scouts Band, which first formed in December 2023, is a group of Scouts and Explorers, including other musicians from local scout groups. Both bands have been invited to perform at various community events around Richmond-Upon-Thames, including The Jack Petchey Awards, Teddington Athletics Club Christmas Party, Archdeacon Summer Fair, Lincoln Avenue Street Party, Stanley School Summer Social 2025, including other local street parties and Scout District AGMs. Money raised funds additional equipment, including a Slingerland Drum Kit, Lighting equipment, insurance and running costs. Any donation is greatly received, and shared with 2nd Teddington Scouts Group. Fund-raising is currently aimed towards upgrading the PA system and adding additional AV equipment. With funding Candice is hoping to offer further performance opportunities for the bands, and continue to build upon an offering of community music experiences.
